This December till 1st of January 2025, the Ibom Christmas Park promises a month-long celebration of music, culture, and community engagement. For 32 days, there’ll be unique daily themes, the event showcases the rich cultural diversity of Akwa Ibom State’s 31 local government areas, concluding with grand celebrations into the New Year. 

What to Expect at the 32-Day Ibom Christmas Park Event 

  1. Grand Opening (Dec. 1) 
    The park opens with festive activities, including music, comedy, cultural displays, and artisan showcases. 
  1. Cultural Displays 
    Each day, a different local government area presents its unique culture, featuring traditional performances, culinary exhibitions, and talent showcases. 
  1. Special Tributes and Themes 
  • International Days: Events highlight global causes like Human Rights, Disability Awareness, and Biodiversity. 
  • Community Nights: Tributes to iconic figures (Lucky Dube, Bob Marley) and themed nights for professionals like bankers. 
  • Cultural Festivals: Igbo, Yoruba, and AREWA communities host carnivals celebrating their heritage. 
  1. Musical Performances and Comedy 
    Top artists and comedians will deliver memorable entertainment daily, with appearances by stars.  
  1. Engaging Activities 
  • Competitions: Twins’ Day, Mr. & Miss Christmas Village, and dancing contests. 
  • Hangouts: Youth, Students, and Governor’s Aides’ nights. 
  1. Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations 
    Signature events include the Colors of Christmas Parade, Mr. & Miss Christmas Village competition, and Jersey Day for football fans. 
  1. Crossover Night and New Year’s Day (Dec. 31 – Jan. 1) 
     
  1. The celebration will conclude with a Crossover Night, featuring a Gospel Unlimited concert, and New Year’s Day activities.
