Located in a remote community called Edem Idim in Ukanafun Local Government area is the Mystical Blue River.
Original color of the River is turquoise and not blue but the natives referred to the colour as Blue just because they didn’t have the right word for “TURQUOISE” back then.
Unverified claims by some Historians, has it that this River was used in the 17th century as one of the slave route by SLAVE MASTERS and that the great and popular King Jaja of Opobo was taken to exile through this route.
The blue river flows on a common watercourse with other water bodies without mixing no matter the circumstances.
